Addressing the media here, Finance Minister\nNirmala Sitharaman also said that banks will pass on RBI rate cut benefits to\nborrowers through MCLR reduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She said that banks will launch\nrepo rate and external benchmark-linked loan products that will lead to reduced\neasy monthly installments for housing, vehicle and other retail loans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister also announced\nadditional liquidity support of Rs 20,000 crore to housing finance companies\n(HFCs) by the National Housing Bank (NHB), thereby increasing the total support\nto Rs 30,000 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government announced partial\ncredit scheme for purchase of pooled assets of non-banking finance companies\nand HFCs up to Rs 1 lakh crore to be monitored at highest level in each bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prepayment notices issued to NBFCs\nwill be monitored by banks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister said that NBFCs will\nbe permitted to use the Aadhaar authenticated bank &#8216;Know Your Customer&#8217; (KYC)\nto avoid repeated processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government has decided to\nmake necessary changes in PMLA rules and Aadhaar regulations to ease the\nlending process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Working capital loans for\nindustry will also become cheaper,&#8221; Sitharaman said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To reduce harassment and bring in\ngreater efficiency, public sector banks (PSBs) will ensure mandated return of\nloan documents within 15 days of loan closure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
