Home Rules Tweaked, Now Get Occupation Certificates In 8 Days

The Haryana government has decided to allow people constructing homes to file a self-declaration mentioning they have followed the building plan in an attempt to streamline the process of issuing occupation certificates.

Under the amended Haryana Building Code, 2017, a person building a home will have to give a “self-certificate” through a recognised architect to the department of town and country planning. The government is expected to issue the occupation certificate (OC) in eight working days if the applicant is found to have followed all the rules of construction.

GURUGRAM: Thousands of residents living in the new sectors will continue to face connectivity issues, say developers with projects in the new sectors, if a policy intervention addressing issues delaying construction of 24m-wide roads in these sectors (58-118) isn’t taken soon.

GMDA Can Now Give Land Use Change Permits

GURUGRAM: The department of town and country planning has decided that Gurgaon Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) can grant permission for change of land use (CLU) for areas within its jurisdiction. So far, CLU was granted only by DTCP, which has its office in Chandigarh.

One of the main objectives of the move was to ensure that official files do not have to be sent all the way to Chandigarh, but instead can be cleared here itself. In a letter dated November 15, the director of town and planning, T L Satyaprakash, ordered that the entire record of cases of grant of permission for change of land use and related matter be shifted to GMDA. He also directed that the district town planner (DTP) and his staff be attached to GMDA.
